Concept Development
ADFling Women's Motorbike Gear designed and foundered by Sally Dawson.
Research began in motorbike gear warehouses so I could familiarise myself with the standard technologies needed and the non negotiable for all riders. After interviewing a motorbike gear specialist it was clear certain standards must be met and there were others I strived to exceed through innovation. Next I reached out to female bikers, asking what they were missing and how I could build from scratch their perfect protective gear; exploring colour, technology and fit were key to the projects success.
After extensive research it was clear that any biker jackets. Trousers and tracksuits intended for women are ill fitting and heavily influenced by the mens biker gear already on the market. My FMP collections core intention is to fill the gap for flattering technical women’s motorcycle gear. Choices are limited for women: either an all-black (unsafe; offers no visibility) unisex look or a ‘sexy’ hot pink look.
